How Do I Make A Kite? |
|
Answer:
Anyone can make a kite with just a few basic components The basic parts of a kite are as follows: spine (vertical stick), spar (support cross stick), frame (the joined sticks), cover (the paper or plastic which covers the frame), bridle (strings attached to help control), flying line (string you hold), tail (string of ribbon or paper for control), and the reel (string is wound on this). The first step is to make a cross with the two sticks, with the shorter stick placed horizontally across the longer stick. Then, tie the two sticks together using string to make sure that they are at a right angle. Cut notches at both of the ends, and then wrap a piece of string all the way around the frame. Next, lay the sail material down and place the stick frame on top of it. Cut all around the stick leaving about an inch extra around it. Fold this extra material around the strings and then tape or glue it in place. At this stage, attach two strings, from one end of each stick to the other. Attach your flying string to these two strings. All that is left is to decorate it and fly. Trackback(0)
