How do you get rid of Dandelions? |

Answer:
There are some varying opinions about Dandelions Getting rid of dandelions can be an ordeal, since dandelions must be one of the most hardy plants on the planet! Billions of dollars are spent yearly on plant-killing sprays and powders, lawn-service contracts, specialized tools, and other so-called "remedies" for the ever-present, pesky yellow flowers and spiked greens that fussy yard keepers love to loathe. If you choose to use your dandelion crop, you can pull a few up by the roots, wash them well, cut the greens into a salad, stick the bright flowers in a bud vase, and, if you want, cut up and saute the roots in some olive oil and garlic-salt for a crunchy, tasty and nutritious treat. Go easy though, they can be strongly bitter (but in a good way)! If you come to like these persistent "Lion's Tooth" (Fr. translation for "Dan de Lion") plants, you may have a free source of fine nutrition at your disposal. If not, at least you know the plants can be pulled out, and you can continue that until they're all gone. Pile them in a shady spot where they can collectively transform into another beneficial form as Nature works her magic to recycle them. Dandelions can also be eliminated using specialized sprays or powders. Many varieties of these "weed-control" products are available from most home centers. Read the labels carefully, to know what the product is, how to safely handle and disperse it, and what impact it might have on surrounding plants or even on pets or wildlife. Some of these are highly toxic and considered hazardous. Trackback(0)
