What is Composting?

Answer:
Compost is a pile of organic material that breaks
down over time turning into a mulch that can be used as a fertilizer in your garden to help plants grow or as an added boost to soil depleted of nutrients.

Compost is created by throwing such materials as yard clippings, leaves, food waste, manure and so forth into a pile or a container and allowing the mix to decompose and mature. This decomposition process is something that occurs naturally in the environment but with compost, it is intentional and controlled.

The benefits of composting are many: It is good for the environment as it cuts down on waste in landfills and it's a great, natural fertilizer for the garden and lawn eliminating the need for chemical fertilizers.
