Grass includes three different kinds of graminoids (plants
Sedges differ from true grasses in the shape and
setting of the leaves and include water chestnuts, papyrus and
nutgrass. Rushes also resemble grass and may be called so by a layman,
but are technically herbs or woody shrubs. Common types include Baltic
rush and Brown Bog rush. Grasses (true or otherwise) occur naturally in
nearly every ecosystem but are very popular for ground covering,
feeding livestock or even food production for humans.
