What are the different Styles of Homes?

Answer:
In the real-estate market, there are so many styles of homes
to choose from.  There is the Colonial style, with its understated symmetry and salt-box simplicity on the outside and warm wood features on the inside.

There is the classic style of the Log home, built from rough-hewn logs that maintain a more rustic appearance on the outside without losing the warm, spacious comfort of a full size home on the inside.

There is the A-frame home, with its ultra steep pitched roof, which forms a giant ‘A’ or vertical triangle from the two sloping sides of the roof.

The unforgettable Victorian style home, dating from the mid to late1800’s, is a favorite for its highly decorative accents, numerous gables, and turret-like rooms.

Nothing is more classic than the Greek Revival style homes of the late 1700’s, which revived the use of colossal columns and grand porticos.

There is also the multi-level Tudor style, with its exterior half-timbered dark accents resting in a sea of white or cream colored stucco, complimented by the warmth of substantial chimneys throughout the house.

Who can forget the Craftsman style, with its artistic, natural interiors and its bungalow style exterior, which highlight the craftsmanship of the builder as well as the tastes of the owner.

There is also the sprawling, single level Ranch style, with its low profile and casual design.

More recently, the Contemporary style has added its straight lines and clean simplicity to those looking for a less ornate and cluttered environment.

There is the old-world Mediterranean style with its Spanish and Italian inspired plaster or stucco walls and terra cotta tiled roofs, supporting beautiful balconies and lots of iron work.

There is the clapboarded Cape Cod, accented with a central chimney and cozy wooden shutters, perfect for riding out the coastal storms of the North.

And finally the Southwestern style, which blends together the Spanish stucco walls with bright terra cotta or metal roofs, not to mention an interior with the welcoming warmth of exposed wooden beams and a central fireplace.
