What are the Pros and Cons of buying a FSBO?

Answer:
FSBO listings are becoming more and more popular
in the real estate world, accounting for about 12 to 14 percent of the overall housing sales.  With a ‘For Sale By Owner’ or FSBO listing, the homeowner lists their property without the help or direction of a real estate agent.

There are benefits to listing a FSBO because the typical real estate commissions are not required, which can save both sides thousands of dollars in fees.

While saving money is always a good thing, FSBO’s can offer the potential buyer a tremendous amount of heartache if the right measures are not taken before the contract is signed.  A FSBO listing may not have the inspections, land surveying, documentation, property features, and other services required for the sale of the home, which means that the potential buyer may find themselves fitting the bill for these services as a requirement for financing, thus eliminating the savings offered by the FSBO listing.

All-in-all a buying a FSBO can be rewarding and if you have already signed on with a Buyers Agent then your Realtor can help with the process.
