What is a Carport?

Answer:
For most people, a car is a considerable investment
that should be protected from the ravages of an ever-changing environment.  Although not every home comes with a full garage, many homes are offering automobile protection in the form of a carport.

Unlike traditional garages which are fully enclosed by four walls and generally connected to the home, carports are open shelters that offer roofed protection from rain and snow.  Carports are open on the sides, which allows some exposure to wind, but thanks to their very sturdy roofs, cars are protected from the worst weather issues, including protection from harmful UVA rays that can break down a car’s protective coating.
