What is a Log Home?

Logs homes are generally built out of white pine or cedar because of their dependability in weathering, but other wood types like maple, birch, fir, and ash can be found in more modern designs. Log homes are also being built with recycled logs which were once found in other, older homes, offering the owner a connection to the past. Newer composite materials are being used to make log homes, offering an exterior that will never rot or weather.
