What are the most common Window Sizes?

Answer:
Windows come in all sizes, shapes and configurations;

and, as with many architectural components, windows vary by building style and by individual preferences.

That said, let's look at some of the more commonly used windows for a few typical architectural styles.

o In Colonial architecture, windows are usually fairly large, perhaps up to six feet tall and four feet wide.
o In Contemporary architecture, windows are typically tall and narrow; perhaps up to six feet tall and maybe only 18 inches wide.
o In Country architecture, windows may be more square, perhaps around 42 inches tall by 30 inches wide.
o In Georgian architecture, windows may be tall and medium width, say up to six feet tall by three feet wide, similar to Colonial.

Obviously, there are many other architectural styles, each of which may have its own distinctive window size preferences, including window sizes. No hard and fast rules apply, however (other than building code requirements), and it is mostly up to the individual designer or owner to determine what window sizes may be best suited for a particular building.
