What does a framer do?

Answer:
Framers are the group of carpenters whose job
it is to build the skeleton of any wood framed building.  Most often associated with home building, these masters of woodwork construct everything from the wall frames, to the rafters, to the flooring systems, to the beams and supports.

Framers are also responsible for placing the skin over the frames they build, which includes both interior and exterior walls and coverings.  Framers not only focus on the rough construction of a building, but can also be involved in the finer detail work that adds beauty and sophistication to a building.  Depending upon the complexity of the building design, framers may be responsible for installing decking and building exterior structures like patios and porches.
