What does an Attic Fan do?

Answer:
In areas of the country where air conditioning is not
commonly found, attic fans are more standard features in homes.  Designed to help regulate a home’s ambient temperature, most attic fans pull hot air from the attic, venting it to the outside.

Some attic fan models can also be used to pull fresh air into the house from the outside, when the windows are open.  This creates a refreshing breeze throughout the house, as well as offering cross ventilation.  When used in conjunction with air conditioning, home attic fans help to reduce energy costs by removing excess heat from the attic, reducing the amount of air that must be circulated and cooled by the air conditioning unit.
